how to describe the nest…
Take a deep belly breath and imagine yourself as a young child.
It’s morning time, and you have no desire to put on your shoes. You’re feeling frustrated, and you can feel the yells coming up in your chest. You can hear Daddy telling you that it’s music day; and that you’re going to The Nest.
Everything in the room shifts and feels brighter.
The Nest is where you get to see your friends and play lots of different instruments together. It is where you get to do lots of silly dancing right beside your favorite grown-up, Mommy. It is where you get to be FORT (loud), wild, and VITE (fast), and Madame Abbey always says it’s okay.
You look down and see that your shoes are on your feet.
Maybe today in class you will get to see Betti the Yeti, or another one of your puppet friends. Maybe today you will learn more of those new words that still sound a little funny, but Mommy says is French.
You know the words to so many songs now, and you are an excellent singer.
Mommy says that she likes music days too because she has new friends in class and they like to laugh a lot. Mommy is such a good dancer and singer and instrument player and parachute waver. Sometimes she even carries you out to the car because you get too tired to walk after class.
You think to yourself; I bet we will even have a bubble dance party. We always do.
I love going to music class. Next week I will put on my shoes even faster so I can have even more fun there.
Meet the teacher
Madame Abbey loves to play, dance and be silly! Each week she get to share her passion for the French language, community, and music!
She has taught Kindermusik, Bilingual Birdies, and worked in a daycare centre. She has degrees in both French and Spanish, and loves learning!
She is a very lucky mama to three sweet kiddos (1, 3 & 5) and loves LES ENFANTS (children).
